ENSO-neutral is slightly more favoured throughout this forecast period, but there is some indication of cooling towards La Niña by the end of the year. During the Southern Hemisphere autumn, predictability of ENSO events for the coming summer is low. Favourable end of season rainfall conditions are predicted and the southwestern Cape region is predicted to have favourable winter rainfall. Predominantly high maximum temperatures are likely over the larger part of the forecast region for mid winter with a cool autumn predicted.
