In pursuit of its endeavours to establish a University environment that is free of and does not tolerate any form of discrimination and which significantly advances social justice, Anti-Discrimination and Social Justice Week wass celebrated from the 30th September- 4th October 2019 here at UP. In line with this the department hosted an interactive session in the form of a seminar on Thursday 3 October from 12h30-13h30. GGM staff and students were invited to come and listen to an insightful talk by Prof Anton Kok from the Department of Jurisprudence at the University of Pretoria. This was followed by a discussion geared towards a legal understanding on the issue of discrimination and recourse. The welcome was given by Dr Thando Ndarana, whereas the closing was given by Dr Cilence Munghemezulu (both from our department).
