Posted on October 09, 2019

Geography and Environmental Science students from the third year module GGY 361 (Environmental Geomorphology) visited Hydromulch, a soil rehabilitation and conservation company based in Midrand, on the 5th of October. The field trip focused on the work undertaken on soil stabilisation and gully erosion mitigation.  Among the interesting field sites visited were the Hydromulch premises, gullies stabilised by gabions near Moutse, Limpopo, and an abandoned sand mine near Rates. The trip was conducted by Mr Roley Noffke from Hydromulch and the module is coordinated by Dr. Natalie Haussmann.
