We would like to welcome Prof Emma Archer to our department, as well as Ms Azile Mdleleni as our Work Integrated Learning intern, and Ms Lauren Pijper, who will join us as the Academic intern for this year.

Professor Archer has expertise in climate change, with key competencies are in sustainable agriculture, drylands, climate change and variability. Ms Azile Mdleleni will primarily work with Dr Rautenbach in the Center for Geoinformation Science. Ms Lauren Pijper will work under the supervision of Prof Breetzke and remains in the Unit for Geoinformation and Mapping. Dr Hansen will supervise both Ms Mdleleni and Ms Pijper for their registration as GISc Technolgist and Professional respectively. Registration is withh the South African Geomatics Council (SAGC). We wish Emma, Azile, and Lauren all the best and welcome them to our team!
