UP DFM Supports World Breastfeeding Week 1-7 August 2017

World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) is a World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA) initiative to encourage everyone to choose and support breastfeeding as the first and best food choice for infants. This year's WBW theme ‘working together for the common good’, links breastfeeding to the goals of sustainable development (SDGs).

What can you do?

In its drive to support health for all through community oriented primary care, The Department of Family Medicine has made three animated videos to support breastfeeding. The first video explains why breast milk is best for baby (and mother). The second engages us with what exclusive breastfeeding is and why it is important to exclusively breastfeed for as long as possible. The third video focuses on concerns mothers or their families have about meeting baby's needs.

Watch and share these videos to help everyone understand that breastmilk is perfectly designed by all mothers for all babies.
