Dr Mehlomakulu is a lecturer in the Department of Consumer Sciences and Food Sciences, University of Pretoria. She currently lectures Food Processing and Preservation. Her research focus is on yeast interactions in fermented foods and the processing and preservation of fruits and vegetables. She has experience in yeast biotechnology with focus on the role of non-Saccharomyces yeasts in fermented foods and beverages.
