Management (Advisory Board and Executive Committee)

Day-to-day management of the Centre is performed by the Director (as Chief Executive), supported by Administrative and other staff as appropriate. The Centre is overseen by an Advisory Board, as stipulated in ‘Regulations for the Establishment and Operation of Units, Centres, Institutes and Bureaus’ [S 3563/05]. The role of the Advisory Board is to provide overall guidance, advice and direction to the Centre.

The Advisory Board is composed as follows:

The Dean of the Faculty of Education (as Chairman);
The Vice-Principal (Research) of the University (ex officio);
The Director of Finance or his/her representative;
The Heads of relevant Departments;
A maximum of four persons who are members of the both international and South African scientific communities, bi-annually designated by the Advisory Board;
The Director of the Centre; and
One of the persons contemplated above, designated annually by the Director.
