Technology and assessment requirements for fully online study

To ensure a seamless online learning and assessment experience, you will need the following minimum equipment:

  • A laptop or desktop computer that can connect to the internet. Mobile phones and tablets can be used to access the required platforms to view content, but a device with a larger screen and keyboard will be needed for completing assessments.
  • A working webcam and microphone (built-in or externally connected) to enable live interactions, recorded activities and identity verification during assessments.
  • A reliable high-speed Internet connection.
  • A private, quiet workspace where you can take part in livestream sessions or assessments without interruption.

Please note that some assessments in UPOnline programmes will utilise remote online proctoring software. This means your webcam will be enabled for identity verification, screen monitoring and/or recording. By ensuring you are properly equipped before the module starts, you enable smooth delivery and maintain the integrity of your qualification.

If your equipment or internet access does not meet these requirements, please get in touch with the UPOnline support team as soon as possible to discuss alternative options.
