The MRC/UP CSMC and the Goodbye Malaria Foundation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the aim of collaborating on research towards the elimination of malaria in southern Mozambique and South Africa.

Mr Shehu S Awandu, a PhD student at the University of Pretoria Centre for Sustainable Malaria Control (UP CSMC) won the trophy as best presenter at the Limpopo Provincial Health Research day held in Polokwane in November 2015.

Dr Taneshka Kruger, from the UP CSMC is very passionate about eliminating malaria in South Africa, and eventually in Africa as a whole and has been involved in research on the subject for a number of years.
