A day in the life at the University of Pretoria. 01 March 2000

01 March 2002 is the inception date of the Business Enterprises at University of Pretoria (Pty) Ltd (BE at UP). The focus of BE at UP was to position the University as a leader in developing and utilising business opportunities within the commercial research and consulting industry.

UP’s institutional history, Ad Destinatum V, explains that: The vision behind the establishment of an entity such as BE at UP was twofold: industry would be offered an innovative and cutting-edge cluster of multidisciplinary contract research and consulting services, and the University’s personnel would be offered the opportunity to gain exposure, experience and financial advantage in the marketplace.

The University of Pretoria Archives (UPA) preserves the history of the University of Pretoria.
