On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria", Dr Celia Abolnik, received the African Union Kwame Nkrumah Scientific Award in Addis Ababa.

Dr Celia Abolnik, an associated professor of the Department of Production Animal Studies in 2017, was recognized as one of Africa’s top five female scientists at the African Union event. Abolnik research focus on avian respiratory viruses in Africa, including the reproduction of chickens and ostriches.

The University of Pretoria Archives (UPA) preserves the history of the University of Pretoria.
