A day in the life at the University of Pretoria. 18 January 2006

On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria", Tukkie of the Century, Dr Anton Rupert passed away.

Dr AE (Anton) Rupert served as Chancellor of UP from 1987 until 1996. He was honoured as the “Tukkie of the Century” by the Board of the Alumni Association. The award was made at the annual Alumni Laureate Ball in 2000. He sadly passed away on 18 January 2006. UP was represented at his funeral in Stellenbosch by the Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Prof CWI (Calie) Pistorius, and the Chairman of the Alumni Association, Dr BP (Piet) Botha. A well-attended, special memorial service was held in his honour in the Musaion at UP.
