A Day in the Life of the University of Pretoria. 07 May 1981

On this “Day in the life of the University of Pretoria” the newspaper,  Oggendblad,  reported on the school choir competition that was held at the Aula.

The school choir competition was first held in 1979 and went on to become an annual cultural highlight.  In 1981, the Transvaal regional rounds took place in the Aula on the campus of the University of Pretoria and included schools from throughout Pretoria. The winners of this round were set to compete with  sixty schools from all over South Africa at a prestigious concert in Cape Town. School choir concerts have continued to feature in UP’s Aula and Musaion auditoriums through the years.
