A Day in the Life of the University of Pretoria. 26 August 2009

With the opening of the UP’s 24-hour Operational Management Cenre on this “Day in the life at the University of Pretoria”, facility and security problems from all the campuses could be handled centrally.

The Operational Management Centre handles a daily average of 300 calls and monitors alarms (including panic, data projector, radio, intruder and equipment), access control, CCTV cameras, as well as the fire detection and evacuation systems. The Centre is based in the Administration Building on the Hatfield Campus.
