Posted on June 27, 2023

The Minister of Health, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi, and the Vice-Chancellor and Principal of UP, Prof Cheryl de la Rey, officially opened the Tšwelopele Building on the Prinshof Campus on 15 August 2016.

This "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" increased the capacity of the Faculty of Health Sciences by 100%. The Tšwelopele complex comprises two buildings that incorporate various green design elements including a rainwater harvesting system to irrigate the indigenous garden surrounding the complex. The first building houses the Anatomy, Physiology and Pharmacology departments and the second has large lecture halls and an open study area.

The University of Pretoria Archives (UPA) preserves the history of the University of Pretoria. The UPA has an extensive photo collection and clipping collection. Please contact us on [email protected] to share your memories of Tukkies or to access our collection.
