A day in the life at the University of Pretoria. 03 February 1934

On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" Mr. L. A. van Rooyen, lecturer on poultry at the University of Pretoria and chairman of the Pretoria Poultry Club, gave a lecture on “Breeding of Poultry Club, presented a public lecture at the University experimental farm.

Mr. L van Rooyen was a senior lecturer at the faculty of Agriculture and the Head of the Department of Poultry. Van Rooyen’s lecture focused on the “Breeding of Poultry for High  Production”. The local news paer, the Rand Daily Mail invited the public to attend the lecture. Today UP has a special Research Chair in Poultry Health and Production as part of the Department of Production Animal Studies of the Veterinary Faculty at Onderstepoort.
