On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" the student newspaper, Perdeby, reported on the success of the Tukkie karate team.

The article, featured above, explained that Tukkie’s came third in the Bata section were each member had to perform a series of movements. Seven Universities competed in the 1967 Winter competition including Universities from Stellenbosch, Tukkies, Wits, RAU, the Orange Free State UCT and Natal. UP also came third in the fighting section, ending in an overall third place.
