On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria", 07 February 2008, UP’s centenary celebration started with a student candle light walk.

Thousands of students participated in this visual feast as the procession moved across the campus. The highlight of the evening was the lighting of the centenary flame that remained burning in front of the Client Service Centre throughout the centenary year.
