05 October 1945: Jacaranda fever. On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" the student newspaper, Die Perdeby, wrote about the Jacaranda’s and the beliefs surrounding it.

The article (featured above) noted that Jacaranda fever has hit the campus and that most student activities has ended to make way for exam preparation. Legend has it that if a Jacaranda flower falls on your head you will pass the exams.
