The team’s first two games were postponed: the first due to a SAFA Tshwane technical problem on playing cards and the second due to bad weather conditions.

Like their seniors, Tuks finished 8th last season, but to top their section in which 8 teams will compete on a home and away basis.

“We are planning to stay fit and focused so that we can finish top of the log,” said team coach Sifiso Mahlangu.

The promotion of experienced players to play in the SASOL league, leaves Sifiso facing the challenge of building a new generation of players who would not be overawed by the standard of the competition.

Their pre-season sessions were negatively affected by the examinations as most players are in high schools or higher level.

“The examinations posed a real challenge in keeping up with the program, but most of our players are coming back now,” added Sifiso.
