Simphiwe in the 2010 World Cup draw

Simphiwe Dludlu a bona fide student of University of Pretoria and member of TuksFootball women’s team could hide her excitement when asked about the experience. “The experience of being part of the event it’s electrifying on its own and I feel privileged to be invited” said Shorty as known by her peers.

The energetic Shorty has been in the football books from the age of 10. Currently she is the vice captain for the national team, Banyana Banyana with 33 caps.Sello Mokoena, her coach said the call up for Simphiwe is motivating the team to work harder in celebration of her call up. She was the finalist in the TuksSport Colour Award 2009 for Students Sport Women of the Year.

She is also joining the team to the USSA Club Championships from 7 – 11 December 2009 at the University of North West, Mafikeng campus. She is enthusiastic about the tournament and confident abut reaching the finals. “I am hoping to do my best in contribution to the team’s best performance and be the champions. We’ve lost in the finals for the past 2years and we have done our assignment thoroughly” said the confident central defender
