Change of study course or move between faculties

Adding additional modules

Adding of additional modules should be done at the faculty.
Additional modules must be added within two weeks (ten working days) after commencement of the module.
Regardless of when a module is added, should you decide to later discontinue it, the discontinuation costs will be calculated according to the table “Discontinuation dates”.
Should you use the on-line facility, the cost will be calculated according to the discontinuation dates table.

Discontinuation of a module

All discontinuations of, or changes to modules, should be done at the faculty.
If you want to discontinue your entire study programme, see more details in the section below.
All changes to modules must be done in writing and handed in at the relevant faculty administration office within two weeks (ten working days) after commencement of the study programme, otherwise the full amount will be payable.
Should you use the on-line facility, the cost will be calculated according to the discontinuation dates table.
Regardless of when a module is added, should you decide to later discontinue it again, the discontinuation costs will be calculated according to the table “Discontinuation dates:”.
The final date on which registration for a module may be cancelled without having to pay for the specific module, is specified in the table “Discontinuation dates"

Discontinuation of entire study programme

You must complete the prescribed form at the Student Service Centre, which states that you wish to discontinue your study programme.
The date on which the University receives the written notification of discontinuation of a study programme will determine the amount you are owing to the University.
To determine the fees payable AND final dates for the full discontinuation of your study programme, without having to pay the full cost for the specific study programme, refer to the table: “Discontinuation dates”.

Change of study course or move between faculties

Should you move between faculties or change study course during the same term (study year), please contact your faculty for assistance. This is not handled as a discontinuation of a study programme. Your faculty will assist with the change.

Selection study programme	entirely discontinued after registration but before 27 February 2017	R2500 will be retained from registration fee.
Non-selection study programme		R1130 will be retained from registration fee.
QUARTER MODULES
First quarter module	after 27 February 2017	The full fees is payable.
Second quarter module	after 13 April 2017	The full fees is payable.
Third quarter module	after 1 August 2017	The full fees is payable.
Fourth quarter module	after 22 September 2017	The full fees is payable..
SEMESTER MODULES
First semester module	cancellation after 27 Feb until 13 April 2017	Half of the full fee is payable.
	cancellation after 13 April 2017	Full fee is payable.
Second semester module	cancellation after 1 August until 22 September 2017	Half of the full fee is payable.
	cancellation after 22 September 2017	Full fee is payable.
YEAR MODULES
Year module	cancellation after 27 February until 13 April 2017	A quarter of the full fee is payable.
	cancellation after 13 April until 1 August 2017	Half of the full fee is payable.
	cancellation after 1 August until 22 September 2017	Three-quarters of the full fee is payable.
	cancellation after 22 September 2017	The full fee is payable.
