Meals

Residence students must pre-book meals in their residence or they can buy individual food items in the dining hall. Should the initial amount which is billed to your account, not be sufficient for the year, further payments will be necessary to provide for additional meals.

Booked meals that have not been taken will be charged.

Paying for additional meals

Once the initial meals money loaded onto your student card at the beginning of the year is depleted, you may add additional meals money in one of the following ways:

·         Pay at the cashiers on campus, indicating that the payment is for meals. (Same day service)

·         Make a deposit (or EFT) to our ABSA bank account 214 00 000 54 (see our full bank details in the Banking details icon) using your student number as reference.  Notify us via email ([email protected]) that the payment made is for meals.

·         Make use of our online credit card payment option (see icon for the link) to make a payment.  Notify us via email ([email protected]) that the payment made is for meals.

·         Should there be a credit balance on your student account and you wish to use it for meals, request us via email ([email protected]) to transfer an amount to your student card for meals.

Please note: Payments made at the cashiers will be activated on the same day, but the other payment options may take longer to be activated. (May take up to three or more working days)

Not using the meals option

  • Students billed for meals and not making use of the dining halls may request us via email ([email protected]) or in person at Student Accounts, Student Service Centre to transfer an amount back to their student account.
  • Should fewer meals be taken during the year, the balance will be credited to your student account at the end of the year.

·         Any meal credits will first be applied to cover any outstanding amounts on your student account.

·         Any remaining meal credits will only be paid out to you if your student account is fully paid.
