Dr Nedine Moonsamy

Dr Nedine Moonsamy is a senior lecturer in the Department of English at the University of Pretoria. She also conducts research on science fiction writing in Africa, and is currently writing a monograph on contemporary South African fiction. Dr Moonsamy’s debut novel, The Unfamous Five (Modjaji Books), was shortlisted for the Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) Fiction Award (2021); she was awarded third place for her poetry at the EU Sol Plaatje Awards (2013); and was shortlisted for the inaugural New Contrast National Poetry Prize (2020).

He also stressed that the connection is not merely pragmatic. It must, he argued, serve to honour and deepen the countries’ long abiding friendship in the future.
