Dr Andrea Webster

Dr Andrea Webster is a postdoctoral research fellow with the Mammal Research Institute. Her research interests prior to her PhD focused mainly on various aspects of large carnivore ecology, physiology and behaviour. Her PhD work shifted the focus towards developing non-invasive assessment frameworks for eco-toxicological studies of synthetic and organic pollutants in protected areas. The extent to which endocrine disruptors have affected human health is only just becoming clear, but very little research has investigated the effects of these pollutants on wildlife.

Her advice to young researchers wishing to enter this field is that they should be innovative, develop strong laboratory skills, but should also take the time to develop their analytical skills as well as their field skills.
