Stals Prize for Psychology

On 15 April 2021 the Committee of the South African Academy for Science and Art (Die Suid-Afrikaanse Akademie vir Wetenskap en Kuns) awarded the Stals Prize for Psychology (Stalsprys vir Sielkunde) to  Wilhelm Jordaan is an Extraordinary Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Pretoria. Prof. Jordaan made the field of psychology accessible to the general public through his contributions in the Afrikaans media. He has published several articles on human, societal and religious issues. He is honoured for his contribution to the establishment of distance education in Afrikaans and his SAQA, NQF and National Training Policy involvement. He is the author/co-author of 15 scientific books and 30 articles in psychology and is the editor of two national Psychology journals. He also served on the subject committee of the Subject Language Bureau and the Council of the Psychology Institute of South Africa, and the Council for Humanities Research.
