EBIT hosts open day for 2024

On 20 April 2024 the Faculty of Engineering Built Environment and Information Technology (EBIT) presented an exciting open day on the Hatfield campus of the University of Pretoria.  The Department of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering, who is currently ranked 1st in South Africa in its discipline, hosted several exhibits, information presentations, and engaging industry talks to showcase the possibilities of a career as a mechanical engineer.  Representatives from industry included Qfinsoft (computational fluid dynamics), Zutari (energy and building services consulting), TANDM (measuring sensor technology), and SICK (automation systems).  Notable research and student society exhibits ranged from a remotely-controlled mining robot, a student Baja vehicle, aeronautics projects, an unmanned aerial vehicle, and a concentrated thermal solar demonstration system.
