Title: How many sides does a circle have?

Abstract: Given a 2D shape, perhaps not a polygon but a shape like a circle or a Reuleaux triangle, how can we determine the number of sides and corners it has? To be able to answer the question, we need to have a definition of what we mean by a side and a corner of a 2D shape. In this lecture, I propose how we can define them using a calculus approach. Using the proposed definition, we can tell how many sides a circle and many other interesting 2D shapes have.
