After an ice-breaker session and a welcoming message by HOD Prof Roumen Anguelov, they were informed through a series of brief sessions on career options in Biomathematics, Applied Mathematics, Pure Mathematics, Financial Mathematics and Actuarial Science, conducted by staff members Madelein Basson, Danie van Wyk, Rodwell Kufakunesu and Matthew Smith (from Actuarial Science). A tour of the campus led by Prof Ansie Harding concluded the afternoon, giving the girls a taste of student life within the beautiful surroundings of the University of Pretoria.
