One of Luminous’s biggest events of the year is our formal — a big house dance that is open to our members, friends, and family. It is the event of the year that everyone always looks forward to, when they have the chance to dress their best and feel like royalty as they socialise with their friends over fantastic music, food and drinks. It is an event that showcases the house’s vibrant energy that always shines brightly, with members from all walks of life coming together for a night they will never forget.
Luminous’s annual formal dance was held on Saturday, 16 August 2025, and like many other years before it, it was a major success. The theme of the formal was Arabian Nights, with amazing decorations ranging from Moroccan-style lamps to Persian carpets and Arabian-themed silks.
Everyone dressed to impress in their formal attire, truly making the theme of Arabian Nights come to life. It was an enjoyable night filled with dancing, socialising, great music, and amazing cuisine. It was a great way to leave behind the stress of academics and escape to a mystical land of magic and sand, where Luminous Day House truly shone its light to illuminate the darkness through the night.
