The Executive Committee (EC) is the coordinating and managing student body of Luminous Day House. They form the basis on which the House is run.
When House members run for EC, they do not run for a specific portfolio. They are allowed to suggest which portfolio they would prefer to take accountability for. The decision regarding the assignment of portfolio segments lies with the Chairperson. The Chairperson may take various EC members' preferences into account, but the EC will finally be bound to the decision and is expected to fulfil the portfolio segments assigned to them to the best of their ability. Luminous EC candidates run for the position as volunteers.
Composition of the Executive Committee
- Luminous is allowed a maximum of 11 EC members and a Chairperson, bringing the entire Executive Committee to 12 people
- Luminous is allowed a minimum of 9 EC members and the Chairperson, thus bringing the entire Executive Committee to 10 members. This is not ideal, but the decision lies with SGaL and the Chairperson
