Terrence Sepuru and Nomsa Muthelo, PhD and MSc candidates in Geography, presented their papers at the 56th Annual National Association for Clean Air (NACA) Conference held at the International Convention Centre, East London, from October 1 to 3, 2025. The focus of the conference was Bridging Data, Community & Climate for Cleaner Air. 

Terrence's presentation, entitled "An Estimate of the Burden of Ground-level Nitrogen Dioxide on Premature Mortality in South Africa," earned second place for the best student oral presentation.  Nomsa's presentation, entitled "Spatial Distribution Assessment of the CAMx-Simulated Ground-Level Ozone Across South Africa", won third place for the best student oral presentation.
