Erin Gallagher, one of our undergraduate students enrolled in our BSc Geography & Environmental Sciences programme, was recently named TUKS Sportswoman of the Year. She represented TUKS in swimming at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she set an African and two new SA records in her chosen category (butterfly). The African and one SA record were set in the 100m butterfly, with a time of 57.23s; the 2nd SA record was set in the 50 m butterfly event, with 25.59s. In addition to her outstanding sports contribution, Erin also consistently performs academically – we are proud of you!
