On 13 and 18 August 2023, the 19th General Assembly of the International Cartographic Association (ICA) took place in connection with the 31st International Cartographic Conference (ICC2023) in Cape Town, South Africa. Prof Serena Coetzee was elected as one of the Vice-Presidents of the ICA’s Executive Committee. Prof Coetzee was also part of the Local Organizing Committee where she managed the scientific programme for the conference.
