Seasonal forecast (November 2022) available

Posted on November 15, 2022

The UP model predicts moderate to weak La Niña conditions to persist throughout most of the 2022/23 mid-summer season. There is an enhanced likelihood for an above-normal rainfall season during the 2022/23 summer over the larger summer rainfall region. Additionally, there is an enhanced likelihood that the Western Cape autumn rainfall to be below normal. There is an enhanced likelihood of below-average maximum temperatures to set in during mid-summer in association with the enhanced likelihood of a wet summer in the summer rainfall region. However, there is an enhanced likelihood of above-average maximum temperatures expected along the coastal regions.
