GGM Community Engagement donate seedlings to Moja Gabedi and other community gardens across City of Tshwane

Posted on September 16, 2021

Thanks to the NRF Community Engagement project that funds the community engagement activities for two of our modules (GGY383 and GMT320) and MSc projects, we were able to donate over 15 000 seedling and 200kg of compost for the Moja Gabedi garden in Hatfield that provides students with an opportunity to grow their own vegetables and other communities and shelters across the City of Tshwane (e.g., Reliable house). This year we were able to donate vegetables (e.g., spinach, green peppers, tomatoes) and herbs (e.g., basil and thyme) seedlings supplied by Plantforum.

This is our third year donating seedlings and we hope to continue this in the future as these communities rely on seedlings.
