Two Department of Geography, Geoinformatics and Meteorology (GGM) Honours students, Juniet Kgaphola and Luyanda Mthethwa attended and presented at the annual Society of South African Geographers (SSAG) Students conference that was held at the University of the Free State from the 3-5 October 2018. Students attended a day-long physical geography field trip on the first conference day co-organised by the Southern African Association of Geomorphologists and presented their research on day two of the conference. From both an academic and social perspective both students gained valuable experience in what it is like to attend a conference and met a number of other students from universities throughout South Africa with similar research interests. The next SSAG Students conference will be held at the University of the Witwatersrand from the 8-10 July in 2019.
