The Faculty Research Day is hosted annually by the Faculty of Health Sciences. It provides a platform for researchers, post and undergraduate students and academics to showcase their research findings to inform and debate on research that contributes toward better health and is relevant in addressing the needs of people.

The event's purpose was to enhance students, academics and researchers' awareness of ongoing research and research opportunities within the Faculty of Health Sciences. It enabled an environment for networking and interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research.

The theme for this year was:  "Stepping into the Future", with sub-themes on; Disruptive Technologies, Innovation in Teaching and Learning, Resilience in Health Systems, Lessons Learned from COVID-19, and The Future Research Terrain.  Academic prizes were awarded for the best contributions to research for undergraduate and postgraduate students and staff. Distinguished speakers from within and outside the Faculty participated in the proceedings, and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points were earned by attending Faculty Research Day.

The event concluded with an awards ceremony, with the Faculty of Health Sciences choir leading and starting the event on a high note. Faculty members also had the opportunity to socialise and meet with colleagues and academics during the ceremony.
