International workshop on Consumer Protection in Trade

This workshop will be presented in collaboration with members of the Federal Trade Commission, USA. Professor Piet Delport from the Department of Mercantile Law at the Faculty of Law, UP, will present the South African perspective on the regulation of competition in marketing and advertising.

US perspectives on consumer protection in trade will be presented by Janis Kestenbaum and Ken Kelly from the Federal Trade Commission. They will address the following aspects:

Part One: Prohibition on Deceptive Acts or Practices under the FTC Act;
Part Two: Prohibition on Unfair Acts or Practices under the FTC Act.

The workshop will commence at 8:30 and is expected to conclude by 12:15.
