Dr Adrienne ViljoenBVSc MSc MMedVet DipECEIM |
Dr Viljoen qualified from the University of Pretoria, Faculty of Veterinary Science in 2007 and joined the department as an Intern in Medicine and Surgery in 2008. She completed her MSc in 2010 and then joined the Department as a resident (MMedVet, European College of Equine Internal Medicine) in Equine Medicine. Dr Viljoen spent 4.5 years in private practice after completion of her residency. She is currently a senior lecturer in Equine Medicine of pre- and post-graduate students. Dr Viljoen has 6 publications in peer reviewed journals.
Dr Viljoen’s MSc focused on cardiac troponin concentrations after semen collection in stallions. Her research during her MMedVet expanded to investigate the coagulation, oncotic and haemodilutional effects of a third generation hydroxyethyl starch (130/0.4) in ponies.
