The Department of Companion Animal Clinical Studies is responsible for teaching, service rendering and research in the disciplines of Anaesthesiology, Clinical Pathology, Dentistry, Diagnostic Imaging, Ophthalmology, Equine Medicine & Surgery, and Small Animal Medicine & Surgery.
We present numerous modules for under- and postgraduate students in both the veterinary and paraveterinary (nursing) spheres; those involving the senior undergraduate and postgraduate students place great emphasis on practical and experiential training.
Five of the Department’s eight specialist degree programmes are accredited by their respective discipline-specific European Colleges, namely Equine Medicine, Small Animal Medicine, Anaesthesiology, Clinical Pathology and Diagnostic imaging.
We support the veterinary profession in southern Africa by providing a comprehensive referral service, and through our commitment to continuing education. Patient care enjoys a particularly high priority and we aim to achieve world class standards in all that we do.
