General Information:

The Section of Small Animal Surgery boasts state of the art surgical equipment and fully equipped theaters to provide advanced surgical procedures to our local clients as well as those referred from all over South Africa, and in many cases, internationally. The surgical team is currently able to offer minimally invasive surgical procedure such as laparoscopy and arthroscopy, advanced cruciate ligament repair, hip replacements, spinal surgery, complex fracture repair and wildlife surgery to name but a few.  

Research Information:

As a section we are actively involved in performing clinical and relevant research. We are currently contributing to the field of research on minimally invasive sterilizations procedures for dogs,cats, cheetahs and lions. We are leading a number of projects comparing various surgical hand and patient skin preparations to each other. We are also proud to announce the first fracture classification system for antelope.
