Dr. Nicolene Hoepner qualified from the University of Pretoria in 2012. After being in private practice she joined the University again in 2017 as a Clinical Lecturer in the Diagnostic Imaging Section. Dr. Hoepner was accepted into the residency program for Diagnostic Imaging in 2018. She participates in lectures and practicals for the fourth year veterinary students, as well as clinical training of the final year students.

Research Expertise/Interest

For her MMedVet degree, Dr. Hoepner will investigate cardiac involvement in equine African Horse Sickness cases by means of echocardiography. Other research interests include other cardiac imaging, brain MRI and equine distal limb imaging.
