Tunnel delight for squirrel monkeys thanks to JCP-students

Posted on October 18, 2015

A group of engineering students enrolled for the compulsory undergraduate module, Community-based Project Module (JCP) built a tunnel delight at Bester Birds and Animal Zoo Park. The students Jovan Joseph, Casey Roosendaal, Petrus JD Joubert, Matthew January and Keano Coopoosammy Naidoo project consists of a tunnel circuit in which squirrel monkeys can run and play in while getting some exercise and interacting outside their actual enclosure. The tunnel is suspended above the visitors of Bester Birds Animal Park and Zoo Park and allows for a more up close encounter with the playful animals. Visitors can also see the monkeys’ more playful and mischievous side which is always entertaining.
