A group of engineering students enrolled for the module, Community-based Project Module (JCP) of the Faculty Engineering, the Built Environment and Information Technology assisted a NGO, Eleos during the week of 30 March to 2 April 2015. This particular center in Booysens, Pretoria West provides food, educational services and emotional support for struggling families in the community. The students, Liezahn Blaettler, Janco Nel, Jana Taute, Nicole van Loggerenberg and Gideon Zeeman did a few renovations in the center which included: filling the painting in the center’s walls, setting up curtains and fixing cupboards and doors. The students indicated that they enjoyed the project and learnt a number of skills that they will use in their career.
