JCP students assisted Bokgoni Technical High School leaners with mathematics

As part of their field work for the compulsory undergraduate module, Community-based Project Module (JCP) of the Faculty Engineering, the Built Environment and Information Technology, a group of 5 engineering students, assisted Grade 11 learners from Bokgoni Technical High School in Atteridgeville during the April recess with mathematics.  Their aim was to support the learners to improve their knowledge of fundamental concepts in mathematics. Topics covered were: Laws of Exponents; Surds; Simultaneous equations and Algebraic expressions and Equations.

The students Takudzwa Chitsinde, Takudzwa Kandawascika, Carlos Maingehama and Ngqabutjo Moyo indicated after the project that the grade 11 teacher was pleased with the improvement shown by the learners with respect to how they approach and solve the problems on the topics covered. The students indicated that it was an enriching experience for them to assist the learners.
