As part of their Community-Based Project Module’s (JCP) fieldwork, the compulsory undergraduate module of the Faculty Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology a group of students renovated a hall at Andriesdale and Askham, the San community near Upington. The students,  Miss L De Villiers , MR R Eloff, MR CJ Nell, MR M Steyn and MR JE van der Westhuizen are all engineering students. One of the students, Japie van der Westhuizen, reflected as follows: “It was really very hot, but the people of Andriesval and Askham were very friendly and we enjoyed the project very much”.
