Two engineering students  innovatively renovated a classroom. The aim was to: "Renovating an old and neglected classroom at Marietjie School for the Handicapped in Secunda into a welding room for the learners to learn and improve their welding skills".  The students Nico Bouwer and JP Kruger are both enrolled for the compulsory undergraduate course, Community-Based project Module (JCP) of the Faculty Engineering, Built Environment and Information technology.  The module requires students to work at least 40 hours in the community and thereafter reflect on their experiences.
