JCP contact session

The first contact sessions of the compulsory undergraduate module, Community Based Project Module (JCP) of the Faculty Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology commenced this week. Students are briefed during these sessions on what is expected from them to complete this 8-credit module successfully. Mr Rowan Watson from Security Services on campus as well as Mrs Gernia van Niekerk from the Community Engagement Department also shared important information with the students.  There is already 1575 students registered for the module. There is only one lecturer allocated to the module and the students come from all the different departments in the Faculty. The lecturers were presented in the Musaion and Sanlam Auditorium on campus. Students have to work at least 40 hours in the community and thereafter they reflect on their experiences via a blog report and a presentation.
