Computer skills for community members in Mamelodi

Posted on April 23, 2012

The Community-Based Project Module (JCP) the compulsory undergraduate module of the Faculty Engineering, the Built Environment and Information Technology requires students to work and a community and thereafter reflect on their experiences. One group identified that there was a lack of basic computer skills in certain communities. The past April recess they trained community members of Mamelodi in basic computer skills. The utilised the Mamelodi campus computer centre to do the training. The group consists of Ofentse Seitshiro, Kingsley Gopane and Mathew Mujuru all Bcom Informatics students. It was a very rewarding project as they could empower their students in the basic skills of computer literacy.
